Making your home made fondant is actually not difficult.
- 1 tablespoon gelatin
- 4 tablespoons cold water
- 1/2 cup Lily Whit corn syrup
- 2 tablespoon white cirsco
- 1 tablespoon glycerin
- 11 teaspoon of clear vanilla extract
- 1/2 stp of almon extract
- 2 lbs of icing sugar
Dissolve gelatin in cold water and let stand for 5 minutes. Place over a pan of simmering water until clear. Use wooden spoon and your strong arm with your stand mixer mixing book =) Add corn syrup, glycerin and Crisco. Then add half of the icing sugar and beat well. Gradually the remaining of icing sugar. When your arm is giving up, put the mixing bowl back on mixer and start to use dough hook to finish kneading. Finally Turn onto your counter sprinkle with icing sugar. Knead until it is not sticky to touch.
Let rest for 4 hours or more in the fridge (overnight is better).
