Royal icing is actually really simple and cheap to make. Here is a step-by-step recipe showing how to make it!
- 2 1/4 cup of sifted icing sugar
- 1 tablespoon of egg white powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar
- 4 tablespoon of water
Kitchen-aid stand mixer is not required but it is really useful and much easier! If u have one, use it!
Put 1 1/2 cups of icing sugar in a bowl. Stir in egg white powder. Add water and cream of tartar. Beat on high speed for 7 minutes with paddle attachment. Add remaining icing sugar, beat until well mixed. Always cover with a damp cloth or place in an air tight container and refrigerate.
